Violet Evergarden The Movie Anime Film Postponed Until Further Notice

 

September 6 saw the release of the Violet Evergarden spin-off film, Violet Evergarden: Spin-Off - Eternity and Auto Memory Doll -. According to Kyoto Animation, the spin-off finished production one day before the attack on the studio that left 35 of Kyoto Animation’s talented employees dead.

 

 

After the spin-off hit Japanese cinemas, a post on the Violet Evergarden The Movie website confirmed that the film planned for January 2020 will be delayed. The Violet Evergarden website says that they “apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the release” and thanks fans “for (their) continued support of the Violet Evergarden series.”

 

Violet Evergarden The Movie will be helmed by series director Taichi Ishidate with the character designs and chief animation direction being Akiko Takase. No release date is now set for it.

 

 

Violet Evergarden: Spin-Off - Eternity and Auto Memory Doll - a spin-off film, was released on September 6 in a limited three week season in 73 theaters across Japan. The spin-off was helmed by Haruka Fujita and credited all the staff that worked on the film, rather than just those who have been at Kyoto Animation for over a year.
